Passport and Visa

Passport and Visa

Any foreign visitor wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport. Visitors with confirmed outbound tickets may stay in Korea up to 30 days without visas. For those of some countries who require visa, please contact the Secretariat. Only presenters with accepted papers will be forwarded the invitation letter for visa issuance. Please contact the Korea Embassy locally first.

For those who will travel directly to Jeju, not connecting at Inchon or Seoul, there is a very flexible entry/departure policy, which allows visitors to stay without a visa for up to 30 days, except for those who are traveling from the following countries: Afghanistan, Cuba, Ghana, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Nigeria, Macedonia, Palestine, Sudan, and Syria.

Those traveling from China and connecting at Incheon or Seoul must obtain a valid visa for legitimate entry into Korea. If you are arriving directly on Jeju, no visa is required. Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport and obtain a Korean visa before coming, unless you are a citizen of one of the 99 countries who are permitted to temporarily enter without a visa according to visa-exemption agreements (Table 1), or in accordance with principles reciprocity or national interest (Table 2).
